The New Forest Museum is situated in the main car park in Lyndhurst, a few minutes walk from the Lyndhurst Park Hotel. There are many displays on every aspect of life in the New Forest and details of its intriguing history. Who are the verderers? What is the common of mast? Are New Forest ponies wild? Find out the answers to these questions and much, much more.
The 'Impressions of the New Forest' film, computer interactive, the 25' long New Forest embroidery, with free colourings and quizzes for the children makes for a very enjoyable family visit. The Museum has in its gift shop a wide selection of gifts, as well as a wide range of local books. The site also houses the Christopher Tower New Forest Reference Library with a comprehensive collection of sources on the New Forest.

Buckler's Hard
The Buckler's Hard Story reflects the history of the picturesque 18th century shipbuilding village where Nelson's fleet were built.
